Virtual meeting, via Zoom or phone
for all Ontario members
Our 2023 AGM is particularly important. Please mark the date in your calendar, and plan to join us.
At this meeting, all members will have the opportunity to approve our new bylaws. (You may read them by clicking on the “Bylaws” link at the bottom of this page.)
The Ontario Region Bylaws had not been reviewed for several years, and a small committee of the Board of Directors volunteered to assume that responsibility. It was led by Vice President Barbara Saxberg and Toronto Director Lise Lareau, with input from Southwestern Ontario President Gino Piazza, and EDI Committee representative Rochelle Porter.
The new bylaws are simpler to read and understand. They have been approved by your Board of Directors, and by the PNA’s national bylaws guru Paul Gaffney. You, our Ontario members, will vote on them at our AGM, then they will be presented for a final stamp of approval from the National Board of Directors of the PNA.
Most of the bylaw changes are minor. The most significant revision is to the way we vote in Ontario elections. Proxy voting will be discontinued, and every member will have the ability to register their vote, by computer or phone, through an electronic voting system. Bylaws
There are a few other important changes, which Barbara Saxberg explains in detail on page 15 of the June 2023 issue of Livewire.
Please join us at 11 a.m. on October 11th, to register your vote and take part in the running of your Region.
